Death can leave us shaken,

Humanity fears it’s end.

No longer what we know is,

The reality we walk in.

Mystery wears its mask,

Not telling the other side.

Fear rides upon the backside,

Taunting all that mystery hides.

The grave does not hold all power,

For God’s children, He will redeem.

It’s grip will soon be broken,

On God’s call for Victory seen.

Death will lose all sting,

Everlasting life will sing its song,

Revelation will vanish dark mystery,

As we join God’s triumphant throng!

I don’t know about you, but it seems like every day we hear of someone connected to our world, leaving this Earth in death. Last night, for us, another one. It’s hard to deal with the death part of life, as it is shrouded in mystery, which can create fear in the human heart and mind.

The unknown can shake us when all of the facts aren’t there to calculate. Then, there is the love and relationships that we have to say good-bye to for now. It’s all VERY hard.

As Christ followers and children of God, His Word holds great encouragement for us there! Hosea wrote of our Rescuer in the Old Testament. . .

Hosea 13:14 (KJV) . . . I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be they destruction; repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.

Paul emphasize it again in the New Testament . . .

I Corinthians 15:55-58 (KJV) . . . O death, where is they sting? O Grave, where is they victory? (56) The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. (57)But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Death was not the original plan, but sin entered the world God had masterfully created, and that became part of the deal. God didn’t leave His creation there in our mess, but He devised a new plan to rescue us from death, Hell and the grave.

He became the ultimate sacrifice when He died for us, was buried and rose again in Victory! He ascended into Heaven and He has prepared a place there for us to live with Him. . . FOREVER!

Death is not the end. It is just the beginning.

Our life here is just a vapor . . . a puff of smoke compared to ETERNITY. We have nothing to fear, as we lose nothing, but gain EVERYTHING!

He’s coming for ya, death and the grave . . . and repentance shall be hid from His eyes!!!

He’s our Rescuer!
