The road we travel is our very own,

Delicately paved with our attitudes’s way.

A life-style that we have daily built,

Not the turn of events of one day.

We’re each headed on to our very own place,

Where our actions and words cleared the path.

It’s our goals, desires and decisions today,

That will choose our destiny’s last.

It should not come to us in the form of surprise,

For it’s where we have been headed all along.

We’ve built our road in this direction’s way,

Now blaming and excusing our wrong.

A turn of the heart can quickly change our road,

Toward a wiser path to travel down.

A different course to daily live

With great intentions to be found.

New hope for a brighter tomorrow,

Every decision forms the bricks that we lay,

New joy for eternity free of sorrow,

And ordinary days will decide our way.

This too was taken from notes of 20 years ago, and from words spoken by Rev. Ron Becton. It was October 15, 2000. Rev. Becton tried on that Sunday morning, to appeal to our hearts about the daily decisions that we were making, and the enormous impact that they were going to make on our eternity.

No matter the timeline of this sermon- it’s message still rings just as true today, for the heart of man remains in a struggle.

Life is so daily . . . We can easily get caught up in a bunch of decisions that we are making without really thinking about it, nor the direction that they are leading us in.

We are just living without looking many times.

We must be INTENTIONAL about the DAILY, so not to get swept away by it’s comfortable current of mindless actions.

If we can remember to set our course, then our actions have a direction to follow-not in perfection, but in purpose and intention. It is then, that we can feel the internal joy of knowing that we are traveling a road in life that is leading to a bright tomorrow!

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) . . .Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make straight your paths straight.

ONLY YOU – CAN BUILD YOUR ROAD.
