Current culture wants to know,

As soon as you can,

Your answer to show.

On that tiny device,

Grasped in your hand.

Just shoot back a text,

Reciting the plan.

Invasion of peace,

Your time is displaced.

Disrupting all progress,

Inside mental space.

Clarity and connection,

Become quite confused.

Chattering voices,

Urgently beckoning you.

Time with the Lord,

Is that sacred anymore?

Has it been opened to the world,

For your time to explore?

Deciding on devotion,

Requires intentional plans.

For a relationship with Jesus,

Quiet seclusion demands.

Soaring high above calls,

On airplane mode to gate,

Knowing where to focus will,

Decide, that They Can Wait

Inspiration of They Can Wait, came from the same title of episode #156 of Meg Najera’s podcast, Unedited https://www.podbean.com/ew/pb-his2s-15ed3cd Most of what I write here came from things that she discussed regarding this topic, as well as a reference to airplane mode given by Rev. Josh Carson during an interview she had conducted with him. Take a moment to go listen and glean even more from this great message.

In her podcast, Meg was sending out the simple message that we all know but can easily forget in the hurry and scurry of today’s society. . .secluded time with God. She began with the difficulty involved with just being human. Can anyone relate? Humanity meeting with Deity can have its own complications, but then throwing in a “device” held comfortably in our hands, which has access to the world and all those in it, who are trying to also communicate with us. Well, that’s just a recipe for complete DISTRACTION!

No Coincidence

The message here took me back to a really good word given to our choir one day, by our then director and an incredible leader, Aaron Curtis. I referenced this as well in Look Up https://preacherprose.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1231&action=edit He was reminding us to look up from the “devices” that we are always looking down at. His words really impacted me at the point which he said, “It is no coincidence that they are called Devices.” There is so much truth in his words, for these tiny computers in our hands are the perfect thieves that we allow to steal our quiet time with God.

We must be wise to the evil schemes of the enemy as he does his job well of fighting to keep us separated from the close relationship our soul thrives on and is in desperate need of with Jesus. Let’s be honest, some days we don’t need any help being distracted, but even on the steadfast intentional days, we have to set a plan in place to protect time alone in His presence. The enemy will use any means necessary to devour our relationship with God.

Boundaries

The world will never stop calling out to us, and so many of us feel the need in the moment, to give our attention to the matter being discussed, when in reality . . . it can wait. I love this important message that Sis. Meg brought home. . .not now, protect that sacred time. The boundaries have to be set to keep the interference from presenting itself. Airplane Mode is a great gatekeeper, giving our soul the open runway needed to get off of the ground to fly into a higher realm with Jesus! Prioritize the King . .

  1. Luv this so much!! 🔥
This thought has been on my mind since listening to unedited with Meg, spoke about “They can wait.”
Nothing else is as important, as the time we spend at Jesus feet, and in his presence 🎁♥️

  2. That was such a good point…that it is no coincidence that they are called devices! It / they can wait!! I need that time alone with God ❣️🙏🏻
