Humanity is fallen,

That is common to all,

We deal with the heartache,

Of man’s sinful woes.

So many turn inward,

To attend to their own.

Looking past OTHERS,

Where seeds can be sown.

Seeds of great love,

That flows from within.

Can comfort and strengthen,

The soul needing them.

But then there is one,

Whose heart knows no end.

Whose love is abounding,

For the needs he attends.

In work or in play,

In worship to God.

His heart plays the song,

He was created to live.

It’s a beautiful song,

Of sweet notes known to mend.

Proving humanity,

Can help OTHERS to win.

This one man,

Has proved love so strong.

When some look away,

His heart sings it’s true song.

Give to others,

When a need is there.

Reach forth your hand,

And show that you care.

Share of your blessings,

Stand tall when you can.

Sing the song of heaven,

That crushes the hate of man.

Your life was a masterpiece, Donnie,

Filled with beautiful notes.

The melody played loudly,

In a bellowing crescendo.

Thank you for your love,

The life you lived in light.

The difference you made reverberates,

In the seeds you so lovingly sown.

I wrote this today as I reflected on the life of a beautiful human, who is no longer with us. Donnie Kemp. The tale his life told is woven throughout the hearts of so many.

He lived out love in a powerful way that never left room for doubt. If there was a need, he was looking to serve. In his family, church family and community there is so much love and respect for this man.

There is a void now in our lives, as we try to say good-bye for now. These things of Earth are so hard for our human hearts. We need the strength of Heaven to see us through. I know that God is with us, and his precious family as we all carry on, but we will remember the lesson’s Donnie’s life taught us to live – a melody so sweet -to sing from the top of our lungs, and draw the love of God closer to mankind.

Good-bye for now sweet friend. Your beautiful song became a heavenly composition.

I Corinthians 13:13 (NIV) And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
