We hear a word well spoken,

And feel it’s resounding power.

It’s force can change perspective,

On the concerns of our present hour.

A negative thought, belief,

Disappointment or dismay,

Can be altered by a timely word,

Which chases them all away.

A word well brought,

In just the right season,

Can rebuke all of the demons,

That we have given to reason.

It’s a word, just a word,

Spoke out into the light.

That finds it’s home inside you,

And calms the darkest night.

Apples of Gold,

Empowering wealth for the soul.

Bring wisdom when picking the apples to

Courageously speak a word of pure gold.

I don’t remember this coming from a particular sermon, but have been reminded of this many times by many teachers of God’s Word.

Words are essential for so much in life. It is how we connect, communicate, relate and survive in this world TOGETHER. When we understand the words one speaks, we connect to them, whether it is in business, personal, spiritual or relational experiences.

Word connections are so powerful that it is the very thing God used to stop the building of the tower of Babel back in Genesis. The arrogance of the people in that day was out of control. God decided to destroy their ability to understand one another, and confused their words. This separated and divided, which hindered the progress on their quest to be as high as God. He knew that if they were not able to understand one another’s words, there would not be the connection there to collaborate and successfully build the tower.

Words are a POWERFUL tool.

Every time that we open our mouths, we have the opportunity to chose the words we are going to use in any given situation. There is power in the tongue and the words that it forms. What we speak out into the light, can make a huge difference to a darkened soul.

In Proverbs we are given insight to just how valuable a good word spoken is. Our words are compared to apples of gold in pictures of silver. There is wealth and riches in our words!

Proverbs 25:11 (KJV) A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

We can use this power to lift up or tear down. It’s powerful either way. The choice is ours continuously. What will we do with the power that we have been given?

I hope this reminds us all to say that encouraging word to someone today. Hand out that compliment, remind that someone of their gifts, relay that gratitude, show that love to a hurting soul, and lift up those around you. It will lift you up as well.

Don’t be afraid to share what is on your heart with someone today.

Don’t withhold the treasure . . .

GIVE OUT THOSE APPLES OF GOLD.
