The blood you spilled,
So long ago.
Was made up of the Love,
And Forgiveness you showed.
The power it had,
No one knew then.
The mercy that flowed,
Was not seen by those men.
The grace that was there,
Was not recognized.
But it’s never ending renewal,
Has cleansed many lives.
Your blood was the blood,
Of a true Hero born.
You paved the way to forgiveness,
While the temple’s veil was torn.
Your blood had the power,
To shake the Earth.
On the day it was shed,
We were given new birth.
Your perfect blood was spilled,
As you paid our high price.
Thank you, Jesus, for dying,
For giving us Eternal Life.

Author’s Look ~
I post this on Good Friday, and no words can add to or take away from the power of what Jesus did for us when He shed His perfect cleansing blood on Calvary’s Cross.
He had one purpose for coming to Earth clothed in flesh. That was to die.
He was born to die . . .for us.
I want to challenge you to take some time to slip away today, from all of the distractions. Let yourself find a quiet place of thought and prayer to be one on one with God.
In that space, think about the sacrifice that was made. . . .for you.
Think about the pain, the suffering, the death, that was supposed to be yours, but He took your place.
Give praise and thanksgiving to your Hero, who saved you from eternal death. He paved the way for you to experience eternal life!
As we can be mournful today, in our thoughts of just what exactly Jesus went through (and really, it can be just too much for our minds to absorb), we can also celebrate our SAVIOR and how He carried out the plan that was all for the LOVE of mankind.
John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, the whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
I AM THANKFUL!!!
This is another repost during this anniversary week of Preacher Prose. Here we are one year later, on Good Friday-2021. The grieving thoughts of what Jesus went through for us, and the feelings of such ENORMOUS gratitude are the same. It is somber day of remembrance and a celebration day of being rescued. There is no GREATER LOVE!
May we always stop to recognize what Love did for us.
So thankful for the blood he shed that we might be saved!
