One thing have I desired of the Lord,
That will I seek after;
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to enquire in His temple.
A Psalm of David
Psalm 27:4
~ Another Look
David is the guest author this week:) I couldn’t resist sharing this verse from the Bible in Psalm 27:4 as the feature poem of the blog this week. ONE THING . . . ONE THING. David had his heart plugged into what was going to give him the most power in his life. There was a reason that he was writing so beautifully here about God’s house . . His temple. It’s the place where he was going to meet with God! This was where he was going to spend TIME with Him, and where he was going to get to KNOW Him.
It is in God’s presence, where we get to know and build a relationship with Him. It takes purpose and intentionality, fueled by desire and wonder to bask in the sweet Holy presence of Jesus. He invites us to just come and sit a while. Tell Him all about it, and rest in His peaceful presence. There is healing there, A refreshing of the soul’s found there, and heart knitting KNOWING grows there.
“One Thing is my desire”, David said. He knew that nothing else really had any purpose, if he did not have that time in God’s presence. If he wanted to know God, then he had to spend time with God. Every relationship is built upon the principle of time spent. The more time that we spend with someone, the more we get to know them. David wanted to know God, and his heart desired the time and the place, doing just that. He knew that He needed God and nothing else really mattered.
Does your heart desire just one thing today? Is that one thing, to spend time with God? Take a minute today and evaluate your time spent with God. Maybe it’s time to tighten that bond. He’s there waiting with an open invitation. Seek Him and you will find him. Spend time getting to KNOW Him.
Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV) . . .And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all of your heart.
Try God and find Him to be true. Seek Him with all of your heart . . . Desire ONE THING . . . and you shall FIND Him!
He’s a TREASURE to be found!
He is a treasure to be found and I desire so much more of him! Where could I go but to the Lord!!
Amen- No place better . . . He has all that we need!
Makes me think of that wonderful song ♥️…..🎵🎶 One thing have I desired of the Lord,
That will I seek after;
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to enquire in His temple. 🎶🎵♥️
