This is the day that the Lord hath made,

I will rejoice and be glad in it.

Lord, make me the head and not the tail today.

I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart,

Be acceptable in thy sight, Oh, Lord, my strength and my salvation.

Thank you for this day, Lord.

Help me to live it your way and to walk in your paths.

In Jesus name,

Amen

This is a DECLARATION for the DAY! Words spoken out to declare this day, what is possible through Jesus Christ.

These are not my words, but an assembly of scripture and proclamations made towards God’s power.

While speaking during a Mother’s Day service several years ago, I heard Cheryl Becton talk about being the head and not the tail . . . how we should proclaim it! Around that same time, I heard her husband, Rev. Ron Becton refer to his father, Rev. C.M Becton and how he would remind them of God’s word each morning before going to school . . .This is the day that the Lord hath made . . . I will rejoice and be glad in it!

I began this practice with my own kids. Upon waking them for school, I would pray a blessing over them that day. During the drive, I would have them repeat this prayer with me. It was not just something cute to do and fill the morning. Nor, was it vain repetition. It was putting into their hearts, the need to recognize that each day is new and a gift that we give God glory and praise in- no matter what is going on.

Parts of this prayer reminded them that they are not doing this all on their own. All of this Life that they live daily is done WITH the hand of God. We need to proclaim that power into our lives! Lord, make me the HEAD and not the TAIL! I can do ALL things through Him!!

One last reminder is that . . . I need you every day, to humble me Lord, Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight . . . I NEED you for EVERYTHING, Lord!!

Always with gratitude- I thank thee Lord. Help me God– to do it YOUR way!

I hope you will make it a practice to start every day with a prayer to God of praise, gratitude, proclamation and humble service- It will make a beautiful DIFFERENCE in your life.

Philippians 4:13 (KJV) . . .I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
