Delay can become denial,

In the waiting for just right.

Our work to prepare lingers on,

For there are things still not in sight.

We don’t want to take a chance,

On getting our calling wrong.

Perfection is the only way,

We can see God’s will to be done.

No wrinkles in the process,

We work on ironing them out.

All the while delaying,

Shadowing disobedience as devout.

God didn’t call you to perfection,

He only wants you to just start.

He will help you through the process,

Doing the things that are your part.

Lean on God in trusting that,

You have exactly what it takes.

No more time preparing,

For Right Now can no longer wait.

This is the first time that I have written something from an Instagram post. It was not a message preached, but a short word posted by a preacher. Rev. Victor Jackson [victormjackson] posted: Perfectionism is the enemy of obedience. Stop delaying what God wants you to do because you would like to do his will “perfectly.” Delay can become denial. Get to work. Lean on God, he will hep you. You have what it takes . . . right now.

This hit me personally, in a very strong way, and I knew that it was a message that I wanted to pass on here in this space. Thinking I am not the only one with this struggle:)

In so many ways, I practice delay religiously, as a way to ease my fear of stepping into the unknown. I want nothing more than to please God and do His will. Yet, when I feel that I have a direction from Him, I stall. The questions come bombarding any confidence that might have existed.

What if I can’t do it? How will others judge me? Where are the resources? When will I know the right time?

Fear takes the wheel, and before I know it, delay has turned into a denial to God. I have to ask myself what it is I want more . . . self preservation or sanctification? Starting this blog was an act of sheer faith that I finally had to take after too much time spent . . . perfecting. . .delaying.

Doing things God’s way takes an act of FAITH.

Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) . . . Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Taking the steps without seeing the whole road in front of you is what God is asking us to do. He is asking us to TRUST Him with the unknowns, and begin the journey of obedience to His calling . . . TODAY.

No amount of time preparing and lining up the details is going to do anything more powerful than just stepping out and trusting God to show you the way.

The good news is, as Rev. Jackson stated . . .God will help us. . .each and every step of the way! We don’t do His will by ourselves. God will honor our steps of faith and show up right when we need Him to.

He called you to it because He knows you can . . . right now.

Take that First Step TODAY!
