It’s within your own possession,

Your greatest strength there lies.

Control of this powerful weapon,

Daily leaves you to decide.

Life and death; they hover there,

Inside the power of the tongue.

The WORDS that you choose,

Expose of you, the spirits your heart is among.

When sending up prayers, the spirit world knows,

Have your Words been arming Hell?

For in your dulled weapon there it shows.

Intercessory Words have somewhere fell.

This great weapon’s power can only ascend,

From where your strength and loyalty stand.

For both bitter and sweet waters cannot flow,

From the same fountain of any man.

What streams from your mouth soon will expose,

Your Words will betray you or agree.

With the power you seek to enter into,

Your greatest posession needs armed to be.

As human beings we are always looking for the strength and the tools needed to enhance the advancement and victories in life. There is a continuous struggle; a fight even within ourselves of right vs. wrong. Our flesh battles our spirit, and we are in need of the weapons to fight this warfare, not realizing many times, that our greatest weapon rest right within ourselves.

The Tongue

We were marvelously fashioned and created by God with a small little part of our anatomy, called a tongue. We don’t always give it the credit it deserves, as we don’t see it as visible, strong or mighty. It’s not what makes us move and perform the daily task of living and advancing, but in reality, it is stronger than many other parts that are recognized. It holds court with the mind. It performs the great and mighty tasks of forming WORDS, and words are our true weapon to fight the most important battles that we face.

The Bible tells us what a powerful weapon the tongue is. We get to choose how we use it with the positive or negative influence we have, and we must live within those consequences.

Agree or Betray

What we don’t realize sometimes is that we cannot switch in and out of the spirit worlds and still have the sharp cutting edge of the weapon we possess when we approach the things of Heaven. We pray and send up Words to the Lord, that can have a mighty impact, if they are not dulled by the Words of Hell that we have also been entertaining. This piece was written after listening to a sermon preached by Rev. Josh Herring, titled, “Developing a Praying Spirit” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v93jFnyq70s It was in the first few minutes of this sermon where he spoke of the power of the tongue and the effects the spirits we entertain. Here he expounds . . .

“When you are trying to have power in the Holy Ghost and your words are not working, it could be that your other words are betraying the words that you are using when you are in the battle. You cannot walk up to someone possessed and cast a devil out of them right after you just cussed someone out on the highway coming to church.” “It doesn’t work. Your words were arming Hell on the way to church. Your words were demonic, and now all of a sudden you are in the presence of God.” (Rev. Josh Herring)

Bitter and Sweet

“That’s why the Word says that you cannot have bitter water and sweet water from the same fountain. Sooner or later your words will either betray you or agree with your spirit.”

“When you constantly speak life, blessing, peace and strength, we arm ourselves to have power to speak with authority agains the enemy and what he is bringing against you.” (Rev. Josh Herring)

What kind of power are you seeking to have? the power of Heaven or the power of Hell? It’s a constant daily choice, every time that you open your mouth with words prepared or those abrupt. Blessing or cursing, life or death; Arm yourself to have power in the Holy Ghost, to fight the spiritual battles that come against you. You don’t have to sit there and take it, but you do have to be prepared and lined up with the spirit of God, in the Words you choose to use.

There is a war on for your words. “Both Heaven and Hell WANT your words!” (Rev. Josh Herring) For they hold the power of life and death.
