God’s children saw the evidence,

Their enemies dead on the shore.

When they obeyed and walked through the sea in faith,

Their God fought to settle the score.

What are the enemies you face today?

Things that chase your heart to serve them.

The internal struggle that keeps you from,

A Promised Land God wants you to walk in.

Are you satisfied in Egypt still?

Slave to your own desires.

Afraid to let go of what is comfortably known,

To reach for true freedom’s power.

It hurts to cut off what stands in the way,

Pruning our flesh’s strong will.

It’s uncomfortable to walk into what is unknown,

Towards all that faith wants to reveal.

God fights for you with every step you take,

Covering His high calling for so much more.

Cut away what is hindering His anointing to flow,

Then you will see, your enemies dead on the shore.

Author’s Look~

Because a choice of walking by faith was made, God’s children were able to see the evidence of their mighty God fighting for them. There it was . . .their enemies dead on the shore. God was covering them and proving to them that none of this was being done upon their own power, but upon their ability to let go of what was known and walk forward in faith into the unknown.

By God’s Spirit

God is not looking to you or me to do the heaving lifting. He only needs our faith in Him to propel us towards something greater. All that we have to do is let go of false securities we are clinging to and trust Him to lead us to something greater.

That’s a pretty clear statement from God’s Word proclaiming, He is doing the fighting. Hold your peace in faith. We don’t have the strength and power that God does, so why do we act like it is up to us, and why do we torture ourselves by fear of moving higher under God’s covering? I read a great quote once that is worth repeating here: “I can do more in an hour’s time [with God], than if I slaved all day long in my human integrity.” ~Verbal Bean Victory in Jesus, is the only true victory that is to be had.

Life’s Enemies

What are the enemies that you face today? The internal struggles that keep you from the Promised Land God wants for you? What is it, in your life that needs pruning? What needs to fall away, so that true growth and fruitfulness can emerge? If we stay satisfied in Egypt, slaves to our own desires, we will never know the true freedom waiting in God’s Promised Land.

It hurts to cut off our fleshly desires, demanding all of our love and attention. It requires great faith on our part to let them go and walk away towards what God has for us. But, great reward also awaits there; for He will cover us and fight for us every step of the way, and it is then that we will see. . . our enemies dead on the shore. The evidence of a mighty God’s hand upon us, leading to a higher calling with so much more than the familiar comforts our enemies could ever give.

Pruning

I heard a good word of truth the other day from my friend, Phillip Hampton, who was giving a great personal testimony on his business based podcast “The Calling and the Climb”. Phillip was sharing on the power of pruning, and how it opens the door for God’s desire to make us fruitful. He spoke in this episode Take Time To Dream on how God dealt with him one day about some pruning that needed to be done in his life to allow fruitfulness to come forth in different areas. That, was when dreams of his could begin to take place. We walk around so much of the time, not even realizing that the very enemies we are clinging to, are hindering our true growth. Cut off, separate, turn away from, however you want to call it, to what is hindering in your life, and you will see a new personal growth with God. His anointing flows through a heart that no longer serves its enemeies.
