To play the fool,
Strips a human heart to disgrace.
To be led in deception,
Leaves remorse in its place.
A truth tightly hidden,
Can be easy to disguise.
When intentions need to tamper,
With the truth for its lies.
Wisdom must pursue,
Within the bounds of life’s sway.
One has to recognize the moments,
When honest virtue’s on display.
Sense and sensibility,
Both hold respect within this space.
Of relationships and interactions,
Capable of influence to embrace.
Don’t be drawn away,
By deception’s subtleties.
Abide where truth’s residing,
For the truth shall set you free!

Author’s Look~
BEWARE! As kids, we used to see these signs in people’s yards and knew there was probably a “not so friendly” dog somewhere nearby. The sign was clear, so it just made sense to stay away. It didn’t take spiritual gifting, just common sense. Little did we know, that was the easy version of deciphering life, which is not always that way.
Matthew 7:15 16 &18 (KJV). . .Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are raving wolves.
The unfortunate truth is, that our human race is good at fooling and being fooled. It’s easy to be deceived, because we are quick to follow what is shiny and attractive. Without much thought, we can easily fall for the cover of the book without really knowing what is IN the book.
(16) . . .Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Human beings are skillful at projecting an image, but not having the substance to back it up.
(18). . .A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
How Do We Know?
Our own sensibility is not equipped to always know the fruits of those we are rubbing elbows with, and it takes a heart that is guided by God’s Spirit to be able to sense those spirits. That is how we can truly KNOW who they really are. There can be some serious consequences, and it can be very destructive living without that sensibility in the wrong situation. Hook in the nose, and led astray to our detriment, just because we were not aware. No one intentionally wants that for their life, but it can be an easy trap to fall into.
It takes a prayer life and strong relationship that connects us to God for help on this type of perception. We are but flesh and blood, and only God, is God. We need Him to guide us as we interact with others so to be aware of the true substance within them, and the spirit from which they operate.
Psalm 28:1 (KJV). . .Unto thee will I cry O Lord my rock; be not silent to me: Lest, if thou be silent unto me, I become like them that go down into the pit. (2)Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, When I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle. (3) Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts.
David Knows the Fruit of Truth
David shows his recognition of dependency on God when he writes in this Psalm. He speaks in a desperation to KNOW God and have his voice heard by God through the relationship he forms with Him. David also calls out the deceivers who speak one way but act another, and he doesn’t want to have any part with it.
What a WORD he is speaking. . . for many can talk the talk but cannot walk the walk. Don’t let the talkers deceive you. WATCH for the WALK and those are the steps which will enlighten you. THAT is the truth you can trust, and that is the freedom you will walk in, within the relationship, because the truth will always, set you free.
Watch The Walk!
