Don’t turn a deaf ear, to the voice you hear,
Moving through an ordinary day.
It’s in the paths of the mundane, when it all feels the same,
God likes to show up in His extraordinary way.
Busy buries many chances, lost in our daily circumstances,
We cannot hear His beckoning call.
Right here in the ordinary, are the greatest moments we carry,
To exhort the wonders God has for all.
Don’t overlook what is possible, when God’s power is undeniable,
He leads in the paths His kingdom can grow.
As a follower we must listen, for any normal moment He gives permission,
To use us within His mighty flow.
“Rise up and walk”, the Spirit leads, on this ordinary day there’s much to see,
Following His voice, there’s benefits untold.
It’s in these GREATEST moments, disguised in daily components,
God’s glory is waiting to behold.

Author’s Look~
Life can so quickly get daily and mundane, blinding us to Our Greatest Moments that await. We get busy being about the business of being busy, and going through the motions we have set into action, never giving thought to the actions God would like to reveal.
This was inspired from a lesson given by Rev. Bob McGray, as he brought home the thought of when we are used of God, it brings Him glory!! When we are sensitive to the voice of His spirit speaking to us, an ordinary moment, can turn extraordinary very quickly. “God loves to show Himself within our daily circumstances, and if we are not careful . . . it is easy to miss.”, Rev. McGray relayed that day. “Don’t turn a deaf ear to what is possible!”
Rise Up and Walk
In Acts 3:1-10, we can read of the story of Peter and John walking to the temple, which was a “daily” activity for them in the Jewish culture. They were going to pray, and as they walked by, they were stopped by the lame man begging for money. Peter decides to take a chance on an ordinary moment, as He gives God the opportunity to show up and make it extraordinary. They stop and Peter says to the man. . .
Acts 3:6 (NIV). . . .”Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”.
And he does!! He began walking and jumping and praising God!!! The voice of the Spirit moved upon Peter as he recognized a “moment” that wanted to be great.
Voice of the Spirit
We have to be careful not to lend a deaf ear to God’s voice, even on those days that are quite very, very ordinary. As believers we must be faithful to following to voice of God as He directs us. “Leading is what God does. Following is what we do.” Rev. McGray reminded. “He will only lead us into the paths that are most effective for His kingdom.”
John 16:13 (ESV). . . When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
If you are a child of the 80’s, you will remember the Christian rock band, Allies, who released “Voice of the Spirit”. My favorite line from the song is. . “to hep me to hear when you whisper to my soul”. I always want to be able to hear that whisper. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHPF7IVCRhY
We must be faithful to the voice of God to find Our Greatest Moments that bring glory and honor to Him! Find it, in the ordinary.
ANY MOMENT CAN BE OUR GREATEST!
