Influencers of Proverbs 9

The wise woman hath built her house,

Very focused with diligency,

Making her place look grand and right,

With pillars hewn so solidly.

Preparing the meat and mingled wine,

She goes every extra mile,

To bring her followers all of her best,

And keep their attention for a while.

She pops up on her platform,

The highest place for all to hear,

And she calls out to those scrolling by,

To influence far and near.

Armed with heaven’s wisdom,

Her knowledge leads the way,

As she posts a story that enlightens those,

The deceiver strives to lead astray.

She warns of who to give your heart to,

Your time and the words you share,

For not all are in a rightful space,

To receive such loving care.

Respect to the Lord is the message she cries,

For that is where true wisdom lies

To know God is to understand,

The things considered wise.

God’s rewards are many

She reminds that He multiplies,

But His rejection comes with a heavy load,

Alone you bear with desperate cries.

Now, the Foolish woman is simple

Hard work is not her way,

She wants it to be handed her,

Great attention is what she craves.

She’s loud and expressive,

To draw her followers in,

Being at the center,

Gives her self worth the scoring win.

She wants to grow her numbers,

To others opinions she has bowed.

She desires to lead the masses

And wear their admiration as a crown.

So, she pops up on her platform,

Where everyone can hear her plea.

Don’t worry at all about Wisdom’s words,

Just look and listen to me.

My simple way is just as good,

Wisdom follows too many rules.

I live my own exciting way,

She bellows the cry of a Fool.

Come taste of what don’t belong to you,

Where no one will judge your choice to play,

Come feel the freedom of a thrilling walk,

On the road paved your own desirous way.

It sounds so great and wonderful,

To hear her call to you.

But none do know Hell’s sorrow,

Her page will bring you to.

Watch and pray for the call you heed,

Who’s cry do you ultimately hear?

The influence of powerful Wisdom’s words,

Or a Fool you follow and revere?

The choice you make is vital,

Who speaks into your life,

Eternal things are resting,

On who you choose to make your vice.

Influencers

It’s a trendy word that we hear a lot of today.

Instagram is full of them. So many pages full of messages and messengers who want to speak into your life and influence who you are and how you think. They want you to desire them, the words they have to say, the pictures that they show, the items they are promoting . . .to be influenced into following them and be devoted to their page.

That’s a HUGE commitment. Don’t take it lightly.

WHO are you letting speak into your life?!!! WHO?

What are their morals? Their values? What is their message? Does it line up with what you know God honors and blesses? Is it just foolishness? What is their purpose? Who are they lifting up?

So much emphasis is put on what is beautiful, impressive and catches the eye. They eye is the window to the soul.

Be careful.

It’s so easy to get caught up in what is trending with everyone else around you. Look before you leap onto that bandwagon.

Check your spirit and ask God to lead you before you ever press a follow or friend link. If your spirit feels disturbed when listening and watching . . . that’s your cue. Get out!

This follows true outside of devices and in actual face to face relationships. Be careful who you let speak into your life. Wisdom has so much to give and Fools have so much to take away.

Be careful.

Solomon gives us his own poem of Proverbs 9, in describing those who influence from the high places of the city, for all to hear. The Wise woman and the Foolish woman . . . both wanting to draw you in. The last verse is the most chilling and says it all, as he speaks of the guest the Foolish woman has lured in. Verse 18, he says . . . But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

Be careful who you let INFLUENCE you.
